Step 1: Tell Us What You're Dealing With

Step 2: We Come Out and Sample
A certified technician comes to the property and collects air and surface samples from the areas that matter. The visit typically takes about an hour depending on the size of the space and what we're testing for.
Step 3: You Get the Report
Samples go to an accredited lab and results come the next day or in 2 business days depending on cost and your needs. You get a clear written report of what was found, what type of mold, at what levels — and no recommendation to hire us for anything else, because we don't do cleanup.

We collect air samples and surface samples from the areas of concern. Those go to an accredited lab that identifies what species are present and at what concentrations. You get a written report of the findings.
A visual inspection tells you what someone can see. Testing tells you what’s actually in the air and on surfaces — including colonies behind walls and in HVAC systems that no inspection would catch. The two aren’t the same thing.
A persistent musty smell, visible discoloration on walls or ceilings, water damage or flooding history, condensation problems, or health symptoms that improve when you leave the space. You don’t need all of these — any one of them is worth a call.
The on-site visit takes about an hour. We collect samples and send them to an accredited lab — results come back the next day or within 2 business days depending on your timeline and budget. For real estate transactions in the Portland and Salem metro areas where escrow timelines are tight, the next-day option is worth it.
We give you the report and the facts — including the specific species identified, whether that’s Stachybotrys chartarum, Cladosporium, Aspergillus, or something else. Each has different health implications and remediation considerations. Nova Genesis doesn’t do cleanup, so there’s no remediation work influencing what we tell you. What you do next is your decision. We can point you toward qualified contractors in the Portland and Salem area if that’s helpful, but the choice is entirely yours.
